July 20

The course was set to A-B-JYC.  The wind was blowing 6 kts out of the north.  Six boats participated and finished in time to enjoy the festivities in the dining room, balcony and tap room. When the final results were in Brian Barcelona and his crew finished first in his Hunter 26.  Ken Batchelor and crew took second in his Hunter 32.  Linda Smith and her crew took the bronze in her hunter 28.  There was a rumor that Linda had a brand new member and first time sailor on board.  What a great experience.  We had a medals sweep by team Hunter.  Chuck Buffington broke away from his retired JYC (fleet 65) meeting to take his Beneteaux out and earn 4th place.  If that’s not how to spell the name of his boat it should be.  First to finish and last in the standings were our sport boats John Vanlandegham and crew on the Melgis 24 and Nilah Miller and crew on the Viper.  I would like to thank all the sailors and captains for coming out.  I cant think of a better way to spend a Wednesday night.
