REGISTRATION:
Registration consists of delivery of a fully completed REGISTRATION FORM (copy attached), with payment, in full to the JYC office.

DEADLINE/EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT:
The deadline for registration is one week prior to the first day of the session. Class size is
limited so registration well before the deadline is recommended. A 15% discount will be
applied to registrations fully completed, and delivered with full payment to the JYC office on or before May 1, 2010.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
There will be a Refund of 50% for cancellations up to one week prior to the scheduled session. There will be no refunds after that time.

ACTIVITIES:
Each day will be filled with both on-land and on-the-water instruction in seamanship, sailing, swimming and other activities. Because the weather does not always cooperate, at times classroom instruction will be substituted for on-the-water instruction.

BOATS AND BOAT DAMAGE:
All sessions will be taught in Sunfish. We prefer that each sailor have his or her own boat. If you have a Sunfish, or have or access to one, please bring it and receive a discount. A limited number of club-owned Sunfish are available. The instructors emphasize care and safety in the boats. However, beginning sailors learning control of the boats do sometimes have collisions with piers and other boats. Although some wear and tear is expected, if a Sailor is careless or reckless with the other sailors, boats, or equipment, the Sailor’s parents will be notified. If damage to a boat or loss of a part occurs which, in the opinion of the instructor, was a result of carelessness, negligence, or recklessness, it will be the responsibility of the Sailor and his/her parent or guardian to pay for boat repairs or for lost or damaged parts.

EACH SAILOR MUST BRING TO CAMP EACH DAY:
Life Jacket: A USCG approved Type III that fits properly. It should zip and/or buckle up the front (no orange around the neck types), and should not be able to be pulled up and off over the head. They are usually available at sporting goods stores or Wal-Mart.

Sunscreen: SPF 15 or higher. Apply before you come each day, and we will try to make sure it is reapplied as needed during the day.

Clothing: Wear a swimsuit and a tight, thin shirt (e.g. a T-shirt; you will get wet so don’t wear anything nice. Wear shoes that can get wet and will protect the bottoms of your feet (old tennis shoes, aqua socks, Tevas). Sailors will be required to wear shoes at all times so wear something comfortable.

Other: Caps visors, or sunglasses with a strap and a change of clothes .are optional.
